While in India I met a man who was injured in an accident that wasn’t his fault. He lost a leg because of it. Tough! this is India! You’ll just have to beg instead.
No injury lawyers around to help, so he can’t feed or educate his children.
He’s a decent man, working hard to feed his family – now that’s an impossible task when your only source of income is begging – in an place like this… BIG ISSUE!
His 2 children won’t now be educated – that costs money too – which means that his pension is not going to be worth much.
Right now, we can’t afford to help – no room at the inn. We already have a child in the hostel whose parents could not afford to feed both children every day, so they were fed on alternate days – something I just couldn’t perceive before coming out here.
