India is our first project and things have come a really long way since we started in 2009, and then when we registered as a charity in 2010. We funded the opening of our first Have Faith Home in Nuzvid, India, and it is now called ‘Neil’s Home’. India runs as a separate charity/society, which was responsible for caring for 68 children, up until June 2019. At the end of March 2020, a large number of the children who had been there since the very start, graduated from high-school. Remaining, are now a few children with just over 25. Due to Covid-19 there were a number of changes which includes the remainder children now being supported from their own family homes, rather than staying in Neil’s Home.
Have Faith: India
The home was the vision of Syam & Shanta, both of whom have first-hand knowledge of being sponsored as children. They are local to the area of Nuzvid and met us when they came to work in the UK. They have big hearts & have a lot of love to give. We met them in the UK and they have shared responsibility between the UK & Nuzvid, taking in turn to work full time in on or the other country, managing the home and looking after the children, together with staff: Cook (Mary), Handyman (Joji) and up until Feb2020, the boys’ Dean (Rambob).
