We have just passed our annual government inspection, with flying colours.
This is the real benchmark for us. Although our western values and perceptions of how things should be, don’t exactly tie up with what is standard practice, cultural, and accepted in India, passing our annual Government inspection gives us the degree of comfort we need, to ensure that we’re on the right path.
We will always strive, finances permitting, to exceed the minimum standards required in all aspects of hostel life – this I believe we do by the way – but it’s when we’re assessed and compared to our peers that really counts. If we had more money, we could do so much more. We’d love to provide additional sports tuition for our children that excel. Right now, that’s a luxury.
The children are happy, well-fed and loved and taken care of, but most of all happy.
