Starting at 2008…still going 2021!
Our friends Syam and Shanta invited us to visit India. This ‘holiday’ changed our lives forever. Although it’s not just our lives that were going to change.
We had a wonderful holiday but despite the town’s seemingly rich resources, there were and still are a high proportion of the population living in poverty in the surrounding villages. Our hearts went out to the orphans who are living on the streets.
We came home and knew we could make a difference. We are just ordinary people who, having experienced God’s love, want to extend that by working hard and taking action, knowing we are making a difference in children’s’ lives.
And so with this experience, Have Faith Projects was born in 2009 – to look after the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of children living in poverty, and also to ensure that this makes a difference to the community in which they live.
We have four trustees: Neil & Sandra who invited Doug & Jaki to join them when we registered as a Charity in May 2010. We also had the advantage of our friend Stephen, who was training to become a solicitor and did much of the paperwork to get us organised!
Of course, none of what we had hoped to achieve could have been done on our own, so we were more than delighted when a number of folk became part of our Have Faith Project(s) through sponsorship. The general and most urgent need for many charities is financial and the children have benefited from people’s financial help. Sponsor us here
So, our first project was and is India but there is need worldwide. We are a small charity with BIG vision!! (Charity Status was granted 12 October 2010: Number 1138387).
